Reflection paragraph on source

"Before widespread school district consolidation, most American high schools were far smaller than their present-day counterparts. During the first decades of the 20th century, basketball quickly became the ideal interscholastic sport due to its modest equipment and personnel requirements. In the days before widespread television coverage of professional and college sports, the popularity of high school basketball was unrivaled in many parts of America". They posted a record of 522 wins and only 20 losses over that span, as they met any team which wanted to challenge them, funding their tours from gate receipts. The Grads also shone on several exhibition trips to Europe, and won four consecutive exhibition Olympics tournaments, in 1924, 1928, 1932, and 1936; however, women's basketball was not an official Olympic sport until 1976. The Grads' players were unpaid, and had to remain single. The Grads' style focused on team play, without overly emphasizing skills of individual players. The first women's AAU All-America team was chosen in 1929.Women's industrial leagues sprang up throughout the United States, producing famous athletes, including Babe Didrikson of the Golden Cyclones, and the All American Red Heads Team, which competed against men's teams, using men's rules. "While competitive basketball is carefully regulated, numerous variations of basketball have developed for casual play. Competitive basketball is primarily an indoor sport played on a carefully marked and maintained basketball court, but less regulated variations are often played outdoors in both inner city and remote areas." Competitive basketball is.Dribbling was not part of the original game except for the "bounce pass" to teammates. Passing the ball was the primary means of ball movement. Dribbling was eventually introduced but limited by the asymmetric shape of early balls. Dribbling only became a major part of the game around the 1950s, as manufacturing improved the ball shape.

Finding Paragraph # 3

What does a basketball player have to do to be prepared to play in high school, college, or the NBA ?

The NBA high school draftees are players who have been drafted to the National Basketball Association (NBA) straight out of high school without playing basketball at the collegiate level. The process of jumping directly from high school to the professional level is also known as going prep-to-pro. Since 2006, the practice of drafting high school players has been prohibited by the new collective bargaining agreement, which requires that players who entered the draft be 19 years of age and at least one year removed from high school. Contrary to popular belief, the player does not necessarily have to play at least a year in college basketball, as the player can choose to instead play in another professional league (especially overseas) or simply take the year off.
( Basically say you have to be test on your jumping skills in high school have good grades and have 2 or more years in college)

Does it distract you playing in front of a big audiens?
Yes all players get distracted and nervous during a basketball game the reason why is that the audiens gets behind the the players and sometimes it helps in a good or bad way  the audience can help you by cheering you

finding paragraph #1

1) How does it feel to be in the NBA with millions of people watching you play one the court and everyone is screaming your name?

I would say the feeling that a NBA player feels when playing Basketball is mixed emotions because they can feel excited and putted for the game bcause they want to win, they can also feel nervous becausse they might lose the game , they can also feel sad because they lost the game so I would have to say  that NBA players feel mixed emotions during/ after a basketball game

quote, paraphrase, and citation #5

"There is a lot of pressure put on me, but I don't put a lot of pressure on myself. I feel if I play my game, it will take care of itself."

At times it may seem like winning the game is all up to me, but i take the pressure off by getting help from all of my teammates.

Quote Paraphrase and Citation # 3

“Ask me to play. I'll play.
Ask me to shoot. I'll shoot.
Ask me to pass. I'll pass.
Ask me to steal, block out, sacrifice, lead, dominate.
ANYTHING.

But it's not what you ask of me.
It's what I ask of myself.”

The quote basically means that LeBron James will do almost anything to help his team win the game

To all the positions, I just bring the determination to win. Me being an unselfish player, I think that can carry on to my teammates. When you have one of the best players on the court being unselfish, I think that transfers to the other players.”

To me this quote means to show good sportsmanship, teamwork and to be a good Basketball player and encourage other player to give it there all and  do the best they can

Usually, two teams of five players play on a marked rectangular court with a basket at each width end. Basketball is one of the world's most popular and widely viewed sports.
A regulation basketball hoop consists of a rim 18 inches in diameter and 10 feet high mounted to a backboard. A team can score a field goal by shooting the ball through the basket during regular play. A field goal scores two points for the shooting team if a player is touching or closer to the basket than the three-point line, and three points (known commonly as a 3 pointer or three) if the player is behind the three-point line. The team with the most points at the end of the game wins, but additional time (overtime) may be issued when the game ends with a draw. The ball can be advanced on the court by bouncing it while walking or running (dribbling) or throwing (passing) it to a teammate. It is a violation to move without dribbling the ball (traveling), to carry it, or to double dribble (to hold the ball with both hands then resume dribbling).

What I want to know about my topic

What I want to know about my topic:

1)  How does it feel to be in the NBA with millions of people watching you play one the court and everyone is screaming your name?
2)  Does it distract you playing in front of a big audiens?
3)  What are some of the rules of the game of basketball?
4)  What does a basketball player have to do to be prepared to play in high school, college, or the NBA?
5)  How much money does a professional basketball player make?

What I already know about my topic

What I already know about basketball is that you have to be a good person on the court or off. Basketball is not a sport to joke around with.  Most people take it really serious, and you have to keep yourself out of trouble and have good grades; however, if you are lucky and good enough you could skip college and get drafted to the NBA.  But you have to be extremely good. Most people have chances to go to the NBA, but they always make a big mistake like smoking, drinking, or have a record for something stupid and cant get accepted in the NBA. If you ever make it to the NBA, it would be worth it... you will never have to worry about money or ever being bored.  Your life will become something you never thought it would be.
