Known for his ability to put the ball in the hoop, Michael Jordan received formal accolades for his prowess at the other end of the court, earning 1988 NBA Defensive Player of the Year honors. Jordan stifled the opposition, helping the Bull yield the fewest points in the NBA. His deft court vision and uncanny ability to anticipate enable him to lead the league in steals, averaging 3.16 per game.
